Como lake, Italy

Well, my second day in Florence was shorter because I left in the afternoon. But it was worthy too… After visiting Palazo Pitti in Florence, in which I visited the Boboli Gardens and an amazing costume design exhibition, I went to the train station to get to Milan. I saw Milan in a rush, I was there only for a couple of hours so I got into the Metro and went straight away to the city center, cathedral and shops. Something to remember about this stop: cornetto di albicocca. You must try them!!! As well as Alcott store: cheap and nice.

Then, I went to `Milano Centrale´ to take my train to Como, which was in my long list of dreams… I really hope to live here for a year one day (same as one month in Florence), just to write a book with an amazing view.

I arrived at night the 1st of april… a good promise for a beautiful april, the view of my room was AMAZING, could not ask for more. The decoration of the room was also very cute, making me feel in another time. I stayed in the Bed & Breakfast “Ca´spiga” with an amazing host, Alessandro. I waked up really early, I wanted to see the sun coming out and I did, between two mountains, at 9:05 am.

Then, I went back to have breakfast and everything was either local cheese and prosciutto or cooked / done by Alessandro or his father. Everything was delicious, I can still remember the taste of that cake…

I visited Villa Carlotta because Balbianello was closed that day. It was nice, but Balbianello (which I visited two months back, but that is another story and other post) is much better. Plus, there is a lido next to it where you can get a sun bath and make a `splash´ in the lake.

Then, I went in a vaporetto to Bellagio. I had early dinner there with an amazing view. Thought I would spend my savings there but no and I had a spectacular food with a little company: a bird! he took a sit in the chair in front of me and I promise he stood there for a while, so cute! Unfortunately, when I took my camera to take him a picture he was gone… but I have the scene in my mind.

I also stayed for one night in the Grand Hotel Imperiale. I must say that I feel more in my own skin and free in a B&B, it is more personalized, I feel more welcomed and you can actually not just talk but have a conversation with the hosts… I don´t know how to explain it but in hotels you feel like a tourist and in B&B you feel like a traveler, if it makes any sense.

Notes to travelers: buses in Como are soooo weird… sometimes they will pass you by other times they just won´t come… just get a boat or a taxi, otherwise you loose time.I must say that the water is not warm, it is freezing in April and cold in July, but pleasing cold… because the weather is so hot that the water feels just right.

Notes on pictures: All pictures were taken by me, no filters! you can purchase them on etsy, KARENINAMIT is my store. I have few available now, but once I finish publishing about this year trips, all of them will be there.
